30 for 30 Challenge – Day 21

Monday, February 21st, 2011

When I discovered this belt buckle bracelet on the table of a street vendor in New York City, I had to have it.  And after speaking with the young lady selling the beautiful bauble, I was thrilled to learn she was also the designer and artist of the entire collection.  It was her dream, she told me, to own her own store and eventually have her jewelry line sold in major retail stores throughout the country such as Nordstroms.  So she packed her bags and moved to New York from a little town in Iowa where she was born and raised, so she could make jewelry all night and sell it all day because she said while she smirked, “If I can make it here, I can make it anywhere.”

I love those kinds of stories.   I hope she makes it.  I think she will.

Jammie Jump-Start

Sweat pants and a tee-shirt:  it’s the uniform of mommies everywhere, including myself.  They are the comfy clothes I crave every night after a crazy day with two toddlers.

But after finding a huge hole in my favorate pair of sweats, I’ve decided to give my jammies a jump-start.

I started with this pj top and bottom set from Victoria’s Secret.  I found them on-line and not only are they comfortable, they are affordable.  They can be yours for $28.00.

I also found these bad boys on www.victoriassecret.com.  It’s a wide-leg silk pant that is so yummy to sleep in.  Just toss on a tank you already own and voila:  you’ve got a new set of jammies.  The silk pjs cost $68.00.

Gap is such a fun place to find pjs.  This supersoft pair with cropped legs and sweet lace comes with a matching camisole.
