When I discovered this belt buckle bracelet on the table of a street vendor in New York City, I had to have it. And after speaking with the young lady selling the beautiful bauble, I was thrilled to learn she was also the designer and artist of the entire collection. It was her dream, she told me, to own her own store and eventually have her jewelry line sold in major retail stores throughout the country such as Nordstroms. So she packed her bags and moved to New York from a little town in Iowa where she was born and raised, so she could make jewelry all night and sell it all day because she said while she smirked, “If I can make it here, I can make it anywhere.”
I love those kinds of stories. I hope she makes it. I think she will.
