I Need a Bootie Call

I really need a bootie call, if you know what I mean.  Perhaps you don’t so please allow me to clarify:  if the shoe store’s a rockin’, don’t come a knockin’.

I found these bad boys at DSW - a shoe warehouse store where all your footwear prayers are answered.  The Madden Girl Kendraa platform peep toe bootie is a steal at $49.95.  I love the metal buckles on the outside of the shoe, the peep toe is perfect to show off your polished piggies, and the four inch heel includes a covered platform – which makes it easier to strut your stuff.

Did you know charcoal is the new black?  It is for me!  You can find these peep toe booties at Dillards.  I just adore the suede upper, sexy stiletto and the easy to wear platform.  Toss them on with tights and a belted dress and you’ve got your go to outfit for work or a night out.

I now believe in love at first sight.  I can name that tune in 6 notes:  I MUST HAVE THESE COWBOY BOOTIES.  You can find them at Nordstrom for $89.95.  I love the multiple leather straps that wrap around the 2 inch bootie.  The distressed leather is styled with a slouch and the rugged stacked heel adds to the vintage look.

Watch Out Michele!

When ever there’s a crowd swarming a Nordstrom’s jewelry counter, I elbow my way to the front.  My pulse quickens, I get a little sweaty, and I just have to see what every one is gawking at.  As I peel layer after layer of people back like an onion, I see what they see - watches.  But not just any watches:  Michele watches.

They are gorgeous.  I have never heard of the brand Michele, which is odd since I consider myself somewhat of a watch connoisseur.  I guess Nordstrom realized the brand needed more exposure too since they decided to host a 4 hour trunk show for the accessory company. 

I all but slobbered over the classic art deco time pieces.  With its clean lines, 108 hand-set white diamonds, and mother-of-pearl face, the bracelet is every thing a girl could ever want in a watch.  It is just jaw dropping, but so is the price.  When I looked at the tag, I thought $250 was a bargain.  The sales girl tried to stifle a giggle when I asked why the time piece was only that much.  She kind of rolled her eyes when she replied that $250 was just the cost of the band.  The watch itself cost more than $1,200. 

As I sadly placed the watch back on its velvet pad for others to paw, I thought that there’s got to be other watches out there that don’t cost as much that are just as pretty.

I really like the Reactor collection of watches.  This two toned piece costs $350 – which translates into less than 25% of the Michele watch.  With its sleek lines, intricate detailing and polished finish, it’s a realistic runner-up to the luxury brand.  You can find it at Dillards.

Take a look at this black leather strap watch from Bulova.  I have never owned a watch like this but I think it’s about time I do.  You can find it at Kohls for $250, but that place is always, always, always having a half off sale, or a buy one get one free sale, or the best sale of the year sale- so I’m going to wait it out.

It was Love at First Sight

I’m in love.  The kind of love that makes your palms sweaty and your heart flutter.   The kind of love that gives you butterflies and makes you say stupid things.  The kind of love only a fellow shop-a-holic could possibly understand.

I saw her simply sitting there this past holiday weekend at Dillards.  She was gorgeous.  She was the most perfect, purple, patent leather clutch I’ve ever met.  She had everything a stylish girl could want from their wallet:  plenty of places for credit cards, a zippered compartment for coins and a slot for your favorite lip gloss.  It was perfection AND it was only $55 – a small price to pay for something I just could not breathe without. 

As I searched the wallet for its designer, I found the name Kate Landry.  It’s the Dillards brand of handbags.  Who knew?  There was NO WAY I thought that  the rest of the collection could be a beautiful as this little slice of heaven.  How wrong I was.

This hobo handbag is such a stylish ‘mom’ bag.  You can pack diapers, wipes, a couple of toys AND your wallet in this baby with no problem.  It’s $89 and comes in the colors called fuschia and orange – not freak show orange, just a pretty shade of tangerine.

Look at this bad boy.  He’s perfect for packing in your suitcase for your trip to Hawaii this summer.  He folds up into nothing flat and you can carry your towel, sunscreen and flip flops to the beach during the day and a cover up for the luau at night.  Love it!  I love too that it’s on sale right now too at www.dillards.com for $51.75.

I’ve got to say though that this piece from the Landry line took my breath away.  It’s like a carrying piece of artwork on your arm.  The butterfly is so pretty and this picture just does not do the colors on this bag justice.  The tote costs $59 and there are other butterfly bag designs to choose from as well.

If you don’t believe in love at first sight just take a look a the Kate Landry collection as Dillards.  It may happen to you after all.  It did me for the very first time Saturday afternoon.   Shhhh….  just don’t mention it to my sweet husband.
