A Cobweb of Confusion

Please, don’t ask me if I’m fine.  I’ll always say yes.

Always.

Even when I’m not.

And I’m not.

My mind is cobwebbed in confusion, question, and doubt.

And the finely spun fibers are strangling me.

So, just don’t ask me if I’m fine.  I’ll always say yes.

Always.

Even when I’m not.

And I’m not.

the greater tragedy would be if no one were to ask.

Saying, “I’m fine,” is a reflex response. We all do it. And, I honestly think that asking, “Are you okay?” is a question that doesn’t always warrant an honest response. Unless the person asking is a true friend…and has time to listen.
