Cake is good but cake is great with icing – the whipped not the granulated. I actually like cake better without granulated icing. You know the kind that crunches when you bite it? Ick! I much prefer cake with whipped icing – the kind that melts in your mouth. Yum!
My point – and I do have one – is this: a light fixture in your home is like icing on your cake.
I’ve changed nearly every light fixture in our home. I guess technically my husband has changed nearly every light fixture in our home, but I picked them all out – including this one.

My latest light fixture frenzy is focused on the basement. I want to make it more of a kid friendly playroom for our two little boys. We’ve lived in this house nearly three years now and I haven’t touched one light fixture down there. It’s about time, don’t you think?
The good news: I’ve ordered these pendant lights. The bad news: I’ve got to ask my husband to hang them. If he does it, maybe I’ll make him a cake – with whipped icing, not granulated. You know how I feel about granulated icing.
